About the book

About Worth Every Cent

Every new product spends hours, cash and attention. The question is whether the right customers will buy it — and whether the business can deliver it profitably.

Worth Every Cent gives CEOs, owners and business-unit leaders a practical way to choose, fund and launch products that earn their place. Bill Canady brings 80/20 thinking to the choices behind profitable growth, from the customer problem to the last day of support.

Find the customers and products that matter. Test the assumptions before committing scarce resources. Build an offer customers can buy and the business can support. Review the evidence, simplify responsibly and decide what comes next.

“This book is part of the few business books that have changed my life. Even though the 80/20 principles are simple, implementing 80/20 can be challenging, but Bill shares how he did it multiple times, the obstacles he faced, and how to make the changes stick.”

The author

Bill Canady

Bill Canady has spent three decades running industrial and distribution businesses as a chief executive and board chairman, and he runs The 80/20 Institute, where operators learn to grow their companies on the Profitable Growth Operating System he built over those years. He is the author of The 80/20 CEO and The Rule of Three, and the host of The 1000-Day CEO podcast. His first job out of business school was in product management. He wrote this book for the leaders who decide what their companies build, and for the product managers who make those decisions pay.

He grew up in a double-wide at the dead end of a dirt road, served in the United States Navy, and holds a pilot's license, which explains the checklists. He and Debbie live in Sarasota, Florida.
