Hello, everyone. Welcome to the executive introduction to 80/20. My name is Bill Canady, and I'm the author and creator of the 80/20 CEO. And I'm so glad you're here. Today, we will help you take the first step in leading your business to success, offering you the tools and knowledge needed to become an 80/20 [unclear]. We'll cover, what is 80/20? Segmentation and simplification. Zero-Up impact process and examples. Zero-Up enablement and growth. Expanded implementation and timelines. Now let's start learning how to fly. If you haven't used 80/20 before, you've come to the right place. First, let's cover a brief history on how this principle came to be. Discovered in the early 1900s by Vilfredo Pareto, the law of imbalance, also known as the Pareto principle, finds roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes. In 1980, ITW became the first business to adopt this mindset. Their great success resulted in numerous other businesses following suit. When we apply 80/20 to business, we find that 20% of our customers generate 80% of our revenue. The same holds true for products. 20% of our products account for 80% of our sales. These are the basics of 80/20.
